When I open the dialogue window in my TESCS, its too big for the screen! I can't even move it up enough to resize it from the bottom, and if I leave it the way it is I can't see the 'filter for' box, which I need to be able to do what I want. The restore down square in the top right corner can't be used either. Am I missing something obvious? How do I resize it?

right click on its button on the start bar and choose, restore or minamize, or whatever works for you.

Which start bar? Do you mean open it and then minimise it and then right click the little bar down the bottom? Because if I restore it it just goes back to its original giant size, and I have no resize option.

If you know some magic secret for changing the size of the dialogue window in the Construction Set, please enlighten us...
As far as I know, nobody has ever figured out how to resize that window; if your screen resolution isn't high enough, you simply won't be able to see all of it.
If I remember right, 1024 X 768 is the minimum resolution to see the whole thing; 800 X 600 won't work.
